About

Skinmatics is a Minecraft avatar customization mod aims around the vanilla player model themselves. We do not aim to change the vanilla player model entirely like Yes Steve Model or Figura, but rather be extensions to the vanilla model. We try to keep things as vanilla-looking as possible.

Features

info

Skinmatics is a client-side mod. These customization is only visible to you, yourself and not others.

  1. Custom Texture To Your Skin, Cape, And Elytra!
We provide feature to change your skin, cape, and elytra texture.

  2. Animated Texture
You can have animated texture by defining the ticks and their texture location. Instead of using a long-strip image file, you define it to make it easier.

  3. Emissive Texture
Let there be light! Your skin, cape, and elytra can now be glowing in the dark.

  4. Dynamic Eyes
Our signature feature! Your player now looks based on what you're looking, and reacts based on what you're doing!

  5. Dynamics Light [Experimental]
Your player can now have dynamic lightning. You need LambDynamicLights for this to work.

  6. PBR Support [Experimental]
Control your depths, emissiveness, metalness, and roughness through the power of PBR! You need Iris Shaders and an active shader with supported PBR to work.

  7. Paper Doll
Skinmatics add miniaturized player model (aka. paper doll) to your HUD (displayed at the top-left of your screen by default) that behave similary to Minecraft: Bedrock paper doll.

FAQ

  1. Any plans to backport Skinmatics?
Due to how the code is written (especially with features that are only possible in newer Java/Minecraft), we do not have a plan to backport Skinmatics below 26.1.

  2. Any plans to port Skinmatics to other mod loader?
"Personally, I hate managing NeoForge and Forge code, their system is too strict or choking to me, so probably not. It frightens me..."
    -ProstStuff, Skinmatics Founder.

  3. Will Skinmatics be updated to later Minecraft version?
Yes, we will update Skinmatics to support later Minecraft version once Skinmatics and Utilitary is stable enough. The mod should be able to run in later Minecraft version (if api changes didn't break any)

  4. Can I contribute to Skinmatics?
Yes, you can! Due to the current state of Skinmatics development being in a very experimental stages, and many breaking changes, we do not accept any PR (pull-request) (GitHub) contribution.
